Position Title: Economic Growth Case Study Writer
Summary of Project: Development and Training Services, Inc. (dTS) is hiring a short-term, senior-level Economic Growth specialist to write case studies for USAID trainings. The overarching goal of the Economic Growth Training (EGT) project is to improve the skills and knowledge of project participants in the principal components of economic growth, while promoting knowledge sharing, distance learning and dissemination of best practices and lessons learned. The project team works closely with USAID to develop new and update existing course curricula and teaching materials, design distance learning modules, and establish on-line Economic Growth (EG) certification courses.
Summary of Job: The selected candidate will work with colleagues on the EGT project to develop case studies for use in the EG Overview course. The candidate should have at least 15 years of experience implementing international EG programs funded by USAID, be knowledgeable of the EG Officer role at USAID, have experience with case study design, possess broad-based knowledge of EG activities, and be familiar with adult learning methodologies.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Strengthen the entire EG Overview course case study activity and ensure that it is integrated into the pre-course, course, and post-course activities
• Review and streamline case study materials, including activity instructions
• Review and design case study content and supplemental materials
• Develop case study activity template and user tools
• Test case study activities before course implementation and make necessary adjustments
Qualifications and Education Requirement
• Master’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, or related development field with a minimum of 15 years implementing international Economic Growth programs
• Previous USAID experience
• Experience with case study design and application as a learning methodology
• Broad-based knowledge of Economic Growth activities
• Familiar with adult learning methodologies
