PROGRAM BACKGROUND The “Building a Better Response: Strengthening Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Capacity and Engagement in the International Humanitarian Architecture” project aims to enhance the capacity of national and international NGO personnel to engage with the international humanitarian system in a manner that improves overall coordination and responds to the needs of affected populations.
Spearheaded by International Medical Corps in collaboration with Concern Worldwide and the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative, the project is being implemented through a consortium that brings together a unique combination of operational and technical expertise. Through a consultative and multi-targeted approach, the program will produce and disseminate capacity strengthening tools that increase the impact of emergency responders.
JOB SUMMARY The communications consultant will support the BBR staff in designing BBR promotional and workshop materials.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
•Participate in the design and production of publications relating to the Building a Better Response (BBR) Project, including project ads, fact sheets, brochures, reports, etc.
•Create designs for BBR visibility items (in compliance with International Medical Corps and USAID requirements), including tote bags, workshop banners, flyers etc.
•Assure coherent branding of the BBR Project
•Provide suggestions for vendors if possible.
QUALIFICATIONS
•Minimum of Bachelor's Degree
•Minimum 2 years graphic design/art experience;
•Have a good customer service attitude
•Be able to provide drafts and final products with a high degree of accuracy and minimal turn-around time
•Have an understanding of the overall visual presentation of the suite of communications project •Be able to follow donor guidelines for branding and marking

• Ability to speak English
