About the Job:
Accion is seeking a Technology and Channels Intern. The technology and channels department brings together practices from the field and implement innovative technologies such as delivery channels (i.e. mobile & agent banking), sophisticated corebanking systems, and other digital tools. The department supports Accion'€™s partner MFIs to develop and execute upon strategic plans for bringing and implementing innovative technologies and channels.
Responsibilities
- Conduct interviews with global staff and partner MFIs (all phone/Skype based);
- Organize and design content to create strategic PPT presentations explaining the various global technology and channel projects among all of organization’s partners (i.e. mobile banking, agent banking, mobility apps, biometrics, etc.);
- Provide detailed analytical research;
- Support global T and C's team channel methodology initiative;
- Provide project management support, including tools review (i.e. focus group surveys, vendor analysis) in addition to tool development.
Qualifications:
- Current Graduate or Master's student studying Business, International Relations, International Development, Information Technology, or a related field;
- Business background with technology knowledge, ideally mobile banking or other innovative tools project experience;
- Ideally, knowledge of/experience with channels such as agent banking, POS, mobile, etc;
- Microfinance experience highly valued;
- Highly skilled with PowerPoint and creation of professional presentations;
- English fluency required, Spanish a plus;
- Ability to discuss projects and decipher results, content, points, issues, etc;
- Strong ability to compile information, organized, and detail oriented;
- Comfortable working independently and confident to query senior managers.
