About the Job:
Opportunity fund is seeking a Database Project Manager. S/he will oversee and execute the successful migration of organization's fundraising database from CommonGround to Salesforce Nonprofit Starter Pack (NPSP). The position is based in San Jose, CA, with occasional travel to San Francisco.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Establish data migration project plan and timeline;
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements (and prioritization) from project sponsor/stakeholders/key users into a business requirements document;
- Assess the current state of data in CommonGround database. Identify any data restructuring, cleansing, de-duping, and standardization activities that need to be performed and determine which must done prior to migration and which can be done within NPSP after data migration;
- Manage external implementation partner (Cloud for Good) to establish project milestones and timelines and to successfully design database, migrate data, test, and launch. Oversee all migration activities;
- Facilitate meetings and coordinate internal staff participation as needed to meet deliverables;
- Design user testing process and work with implementation partner to resolve any outstanding issues;
- Oversee go-live rollout of NPSP;
- Coordinate with external implementation partner to develop training plans, materials, and documentation for database users and coordinate training sessions;
- Design and document user roles, security, profiles, workflow rules, and any other configuration options;
- Provide one-on-one training and support for users in implementation of NPSP;
- Design and build initial reports and dashboards and train users in report management;
- Evaluate app exchange tools for feasibility and benefit to the business and implement as appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 – 5 years in database design or development;
- More than 2 years working in a Salesforce environment. Administrator certification preferred;
- More than 2 years managing projects and vendors;
- Understanding of nonprofit fundraising business processes highly preferred;
- Proficient in data manipulation (Excel);
- Strong documentation and training skills;
- Excellent project management and communication skills.
