We are seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and service-orientated professional for the position of Collaboration Specialist in the Global Conservation Agriculture Program. The Collaboration Specialist position is responsible for managing all documentation related to collaboration agreements within the Take it to the Farmer initiative and AC Mexico. Works closely with M&E Specialist to ensure that collaborator performance is reflected in project workplans and reports.

The Sustainable Modernization of Traditional Agriculture (MasAgro, Spanish acronym) initiative, a joint initiative by CIMMYT (International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center, by its Spanish acronym) and SAGARPA (Mexican Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fisheries and Food), that focuses on the production of corn and wheat to counter food crisis and climate change. Its component Take it to the Farmer provides technical assistance and generates capabilities for the farmers to adopt sustainable conservation agriculture practices, which will mean higher and more stable crop yields, as well as a better income for households.

The position will be based at CIMMYT's headquarters located 45 km northeast of Mexico City, but will interact with many of CIMMYT´s experimental stations on a regular basis.

Specific responsibilities of this position will include:
    Manage all documentation related to collaborative agreements.
  •     Coordinate legal follow up, payments and commitments, deliverables, formal agreement closing (closing letters, approval for payments), and other processes related to collaborative agreements as required.
  •     Develop collaborator and scientists reports based on performance indicators.
  •     File, archive and manage contracts and deliverables in institutional systems following relational methods.
  •     Support scientists in the development of collaborative agreements proposals and MOUs
  •     Evaluate and review contracts in English and Spanish with national and international entities both public and private.
  •     Prepare documentation and reports related to the agreements.
  •     Train scientists and others (e.g., key stakeholders) on basic knowledge about collaboration in CIMMYT.
  •     Conduct quality control on deliverables of collaboration agreements (e.g., ensure that what has been promised is being delivered, and flag any problems to the Project Manager and to the relevant Project Coordinator)
  •     Follow up with collaborators about their performance and payments.
  •     Work closely with the M&E Specialist to ensure that collaborator performance is accurately reflected in project workplans and technical progress reports.
  •     Be the main contact within the program for their queries.
  •     Contribute to the visibility of CIMMYT's research, partnerships and impacts.
  •     Other support tasks as required by supervisor.

We are seeking candidates with the following qualification, skills and attitudes:
  •     BA/BS in Business Administration, Finance or Public Administration or BBA in Project Management or similar field.
  •     Minimum 3 years progressive in a similar position.
  •     Proficiency in English, with excellent written / oral communication and presentation skills.
  •     Proficiency in MS Office suite and advanced internet skills. Knowledge of specific PMP software and tools such as Mindjet.
  •     Selected candidates must be analytical, innovative, proactive, and well articulate.
  •     Ability to work as a team and under pressure in a multidisciplinary and multinational work environment.
  •     Extensive travel availability is required.
