This position will be responsible to assist in application deployments and administration including change control policies, installation, upgrades, patches, configuration, administration, and support of all SharePoint Services/SharePoint Portal servers.
This position is based at UNICEF's New York City Headquarters. You will report to a section manager and work within an administrative team dedicated to this new initiative within UNICEF. The teams you will be working with include specialists in networking, AD, security, infrastructure, SQL DBAs, .NET developers and web technical management.
The scope of duties to accomplish this task are as follows:
•Installation, upgrages, patches, configuration, administration, and support of all SharePoint Services/SharePoint portal servers.
•Application deployments and administration including change control policies.
•Manage user permissions.
•Facilitate testing, defect resolution, and user acceptance.
•Provide production deployment support.
•Identify and develop appropriate lifecycle documentation to support the design, development, and deployment.
•Troubleshooting of PC client vs. SharePoint issues.
•Use of enterprise issue tracking system to track all issues and requests.
•Optimize SharePoint content for indexing and searching.
•On occasions, design and develop custom web parts to adhere to current user requirements for case information.
•On occasions, design and develop reports and dashboards for SharePoint 2010 using SQL Server reporting Services.
•Transfer knowledge by way of collaboration with UNICEF staff, documents and direct trainings.
The skills and experience required for this assignment are:
•University degree in computer science, engineering, information management or related field
•Four to seven years experience in SharePoint Services/Portal enterprise level administration, security, and maintenance. SharePoint 2010 experience is required.
•SharePoint administration experience includes installation, configuration, monitoring farm health and performance, managing quotas, monitoring usage logs, managing backup and restore/recovery, creating application pools, site collections, and sites, creating groups, assigning rights, testing and installation third party web parts, and PowerShell.
•Experience with .NET technologies
•Knowledge of Team Foundation Server and hands-on experience on deployment of application related changes in integration test, UAT and production.
•IIS, SQL Server including SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, Windows Server 2008, and Active Directory (including LDAP and user profile) expertise.
•In-depth experience with Windows Server technologies including Windows Server 2003/2008, IIS and Virtualization.
•Broad experience with Web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, XSLT), ASP.NET concepts, Security (Active Directory, ISA) Networking (DNS, HTTP, SSL), Email (SMTP), Database (T-SQL, PL/SQL, normalization), and Storage (SAN) concepts.
•Ability to be a self-starter and to work with minimum supervision.
•Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
•Experience in a multi-cultural and gender sensitive work environment.
•Strong interpersonal skills.
•Ability to work with a team as well as independently.
Duration of the Consultancy: The position is for 11 months. The selected candidate is expected to work 7 hours/day.
