Job Description
GENERAL FUNCTION
The Inter-organizational Collaborative Initiative is a joint initiative of Internews Network (US) and Internews Europe to identify strategies and tactics to collaborate better internationally and serve our beneficiaries more effectively. The Senior Consultant accomplishes the project objectives by providing strategy, analysis, writing, research, and change management for the initiative. The position has a wide range of traditional management consulting responsibilities and is the leader of the business team working to identify, analyze and recommend solutions. The position is based in Washington D.C. or London and requires occasional travel to the other location.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Strategy development: Assisting stakeholders in a strategic analysis of goals, options, considerations, risk and benefits of the Initiative
- Business Analysis: Build action plans, activity timelines and duration estimates, coordinate and schedule work to meet deadlines, identify and manage resources, estimate and manage costs and project budget.
- Change Management: establishing leadership-driven communication to inform all affected individuals about the impact, timing, and the implications of change in a timely and sensitive manner.
- Stakeholder management: Supports the initiative’s objectives by creating positive relationships with stakeholders, setting expectations, and agreement on objectives, evaluations of risk and selection of options.
- Writing and documentation: Manage the initiative research program, write major portions of the final report, regular correspondence and updates.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- 3-5 years Management Consulting experience or equivalent.
- Non-profit consulting experience.
- Excellent report writing and communications skills
- Proven problem solving and business analysis skills
Preferred
- Familiarity with international development or foreign assistance industry
- Experience of advising international NGOs and familiarity with international NGO governance models is desirable.
- Knowledge of both UK & US operating environments and cultures is desired.
- MBA or equivalent graduate-level experience.
- Relevant international business experience, especially with integration of non-profits.
