ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:

 No city experienced epidemic levels of HIV faster than San Francisco. At San Francisco AIDS Foundation, we work to end the epidemic where it first took hold, and eventually everywhere. Through education, advocacy, and direct services for prevention and care, we are confronting HIV in communities most vulnerable to the disease. For more information, visit www.sfaf.org POSITION SUMMARY: Stonewall is a harm reduction counseling and treatment program that integrates substance use, mental health, and HIV counseling and education for gay men and other men who have sex with men (G/MSM) who use alcohol and/or other drugs. Stonewall serves approximately 600 unduplicated clients each year. The Coordinator of the Clinical Internship Training Program will manage the clinical intern training program and all administrative and operations issues associated with the training program including: marketing, recruitment & retention; relationships with academic institutions; clinical & administrative supervision; quality assurance and training for Avatar and/or other electronic records systems and data bases; curriculum development; individual and group training & consultation. The Clinical Intern Coordinator will also provide individual and group counseling and psychotherapy. Depending on the size of the internship training program the internship coordinator may maintain a client caseload. The internship coordinator will contribute to the senior management team and will work closely with the Program Director, the Director of Clinical Operations, the Intake Coordinator and other managers and directors throughout the program and agency.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1.
Curriculum & Training: Write, develop, and manage all Stonewall clinical intern training, curriculum, and curriculum objectives in coordination with Program Management.
 2. Supervision: Train all Stonewall clinical interns and directly supervise up to 8 clinical interns. Manage all program clinical intern supervisors and provide team and 1:1 consultation to clinical intern supervisors as needed. Develop protocols for clinical staff serving as clinical supervisors within the training program. Develop protocols for clinical rounds and team and individual supervision for clinical interns
3. Administrative: Manage all day to day activities and operations of the clinical internship training program including trainee schedules. Supervise all Quality Assurance and coordination of care activities for all clinical interns program-wide. That includes, co-signing and reviewing all assessments, progress notes, treatment plans and other related chart documents, including those within Avatar and/or other electronic record systems and databases. Write evaluations, performance summaries, and/or other assessments as required by the program and/or academic institutions. Maintain all records and paperwork in a timely manner and within the guidelines established by the program and all funding and licensing bodies.
 4. Recruitment & Retention: Develop and deliver applications and/or presentations to academic institutions. Manage all recruitment and retention issues for clinical intern program. Develop, write, and implement all recruitment strategies, including developing and maintaining relationships with academic institutions.
5. Serve on the Program Senior Management Workgroup as Assigned: As directed by the Program Director may assist with complex program and/or agency business operations and challenges. Analyze complex business process and data and develop recommendations rooted in sound judgment to Program Director.

Counseling:
Provide group and individual integrated mental health, substance use, and HIV counseling, psychotherapy, and treatment. Conduct intake and assessment including substance use, mental health, HIV, HCV and other physical health concerns. Provide DSM diagnosis, crisis intervention and case management. Other duties as assigned. Other Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of ethical issues and legal reporting requirements. Meets minimum certification, licensing and training standards necessary to supervise clinical interns. Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriate boundaries. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Master's degree in counseling, social work and/or allied field and 5 years counseling experience required . Experience counseling target populations of G/MSM preferred. Active California license as a clinical social worker or marriage and family therapist required for minimum of 3 years with active credential to supervise clinical interns required.

    1 to 3 years' experience supervising clinical interns.
    1 to 3 years' experience in writing and developing curriculum and conducting trainings required.
    1 to 3 years' experience coordinating, managing and/or supervising staff preferred.
    Must be familiar with and knowledgeable about substance use certification & mental health licensing standards. Including standards for CA substance use counselor certification - i.e. CAADE, CADAC, etc.
    Must be familiar and knowledgeable about BBS trainee requirements.
    Must be familiar and knowledgeable about target populations of G/MSM served by the program.
    Experience coordinating and/or facilitating skills-based groups, i.e. DBT, Seeking Safety, Relapse Prevention, Anger Management preferred PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Skill in operating office equipment such as a personal computer, copy machine and telephone system. Ability to perform routine bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching.
