Position Summary: The Writer/Researcher Intern produces various stories and documents about Pact and its work for internal and external audiences.
The Intern will research programmatic documents for interesting examples of Pact’s work around the world and may interview Pact colleagues and partners for additional information, producing web features, blogs, social media posts and other material for Pact’s Communications Department.
This is a non-paid, temporary position.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities may include:
• Regularly mining programmatic reports to donors for interesting information, data and success stories for review with Communications Manager to make selections for further development;
• Writing web features, blog and social media posts as well as for print collateral such as annual report;
• Writing and editing copy for product/service packages on components of Pact’s work (i.e., natural resources management, governance, etc.)
• “Cover” in-house presentations involving subject-matter experts for external reports;
• Write press releases and follow up with media;
• Participating in team and departmental meetings and initiatives;
• Other tasks as they arise.
Qualifications required:
• Self-starter and independent worker who can also work well as a team member;
• Excellent cross-cultural communication skills;
• Excellent writing and editing skills;
• Strong computer skills: proficiency in word processing;
• Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks;
• Strong interest in international development, journalism and digital media.
Education and Experience required:
• Progress towards a higher degree in international development, regional studies, program management or related field, or equivalent experience required;
• Experience in a developing country context strongly preferred;
• Knowledge of journalism principles and digital media;
• English fluency required.
