and others involved with microcredit to promote best practices in the field, to stimulate the interchanging of knowledge, and to work towards reaching their goals. MCS seeks to reach and empower 175 million of the world’s poorest families with microloans by 2015.
About the Job:
MCS is seeking an Executive Assistant/Development Associate. S/he will have a dual role of providing both administrative/financial support, as well as development assistance to the MCS director, particularly as pertains to the campaign's budgeting, financial tracking, vendor interactions, grant reporting and management, and fundraising.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Develop a grants tracker to monitor grant spending and donor prospects. Assist in the drafting, revision, and submission of grant reports. Conduct research on donor prospects or new business opportunities;
- Provide support to the MCS director in cross-program fundraising activities and development of competitive fundraising proposals;
- Prepare an annual donor mailing (with the campaign director) and monthly thank you letters to donors (with REF’s office manager);
- Draft and monitor the campaign’s annual budget in close coordination with the MCS director, program managers, and REF’s director of finance;
- Track the campaign’s actual spending throughout the year against the budget, and report to the director on a regular basis, and schedule and perform monthly budget review meetings with program managers;
- Liaise with REF’s bookkeeping and director of finance;
- Manage reimbursement and credit card receipts for organization staff;
- Draft MoUs, track payment dates, and initiate all organization payments (checks or wire transfers) to consultants and other vendors. Manage phone/mail correspondence with vendors;
- Assist the program managers with reviewing resumes, setting up interviews, and sending offer letters to organization staff and interns. Provide orientations for new interns and staff and help them get set up. Coordinate building and office access for interns and staff with REF office manager;
- Schedule and arrange executive meetings, appointments, and travel plans, and assist with the preparation of documents, correspondence, and presentations;
- Manage the purchase and stocking of office supplies for organization staff;
- Manage MCS materials orders and shipments;
- Manage incoming/outgoing mail;
- Liaise with REF front desk, IT, and communications;
- Manage MCS’ skype business account;
- Manage physical and virtual filing systems. Manage organization's storage space (off-site and internal) and organization's office space management issues;
- Provide assistance and management support for organization's special events.
Qualifications:
Degree of 4 years in International Development, International Relations, Business, Finance, Business Administration, or Business Management;
Knowledge of Spanish or French is needed.
