About the Job:
The Microfinance Investment Support Facility for Afghanistan (MISFA) is seeking a Database Administration Advisor. S/he willbe responsible for operationalizing the client database, with smooth data updation and access performance.

Tasks and Responsibilities:


  •     Increase capacity among MISFA and partner MFIs to understand and interpret client database reports;
  •     Increase capacity of MISFA staff to operate and/or manage the client database independently;
  •     Assess issues at the partner MFIs in providing correct and up-to-date data in the specified format;
  •     Assist partner MFIs with generating, understanding, and interpreting client database reports;
  •     Create additional reports for MISFA or for sector inquiries, where necessary;
  •     Provide orientation and introduction to the system to local nationals (English speaking) who will provide on-going support.

Qualifications:
  •     Theoretical and practical knowledge of database development - database administration, database tuning, database management, database security, and RDBMS;
  •     At least 3 years' experience in database development and management;
  •     Languages - SQL, PL/SQL;
  •     DB - SQL server;
  •     Tools - triggers, views, cursors, packages, and exceptions;
  •     Performance tuning in SQL and stored procedures;
  •     Develop and maintain applications in SQL server;
  •     Design and build systems to increase performance and scalability of SQL applications;
  •     Ability to program in ASP.NET, C#, VB, CSS, Javascript, and HTML;
  •     Advanced knowledge of all MS Office products, particularly Access;
  •     Fluency (spoken and written) in English.
