About the Job:
SPBD is seeking an Intern. S/he will assist the general manager (GM) of SPBD Fiji (SPBD SI), Elrico Munoz in upgrading the MIS and reporting system of the bank. The work duration is 6-10 weeks and will be remotely done in Fiji.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Spend significant time to understand the operations and processes of organization by performing field visits to meet clients and holding interviews with staff in the front and back office;
- Fully understand the mobile banking system and partnership of organization and vodafone and how a cashless branch operates;
- Design and create customized reports and forms from CommonCents101 (using crystal Reports software). CommonCents101 is the MIS used by the organization;
- Write simple software to automate MPAiSA reports feeding into CommonCents101. MPAiSA is the platform vodafone and SPBD use to run the mobile banking operations;
- Evaluate the MIS for potential upgrade and look into other MIS globally;
- Provide updates to the general manager over email and in person.
Qualifications:
- Degree, coursework and/or professional experience in IT is necessary, in microfinance is desired;
- Excellent communication (writing and speaking) skills in English. Must be able to express thoughts and opinions clearly and concisely;
- Programming skills;
- Background on crystal reports software and CommonCents101 a plus, but not necessary;
- Experience working in developing country environments.
