About the Organization:
The MicroLoan Foundation is a microfinance charity working in Malawi and Zambia. It provides
microfinance and training to groups of rural women, helping them to start small businesses and work their way out of poverty.
About the Job:
The MicroLoan Foundation is seeking a Programmes Intern. S/he will report to the operations manager. The position is based out of London.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Provide monthly updates, review, and analysis of performance reports from Malawi and Zambia;
- Input into the development/update of financial and social performance reporting templates;
- Provide performance data to external organizations (such as MixMarket and Microfinance Transparency);
- Support the preparatory work for upcoming regulatory changes in Malawi;
- Support finance processes, reconciliations, and the budgeting process;
- Collate and analyze information to provide to the fundraising team;
- Complete other research and ad hoc projects as required.
Qualifications:
- Educated to degree level;
- High level of numeracy;
- Knowledge of Excel and use of formulae (knowledge of Access is a plus);
- Statistical analysis skills;
- Strong research and analysis skills;
- Demonstrable use of initiative.
