In this role you will oversee the strategic business development process and financial management within the Mobilization group in alignment with overall organization objectives. Serve as the senior business advisor to the Mobilization team, providing financial and operational leadership for decision making, stewardship and organizational effectiveness. Help carry out our Christian organization’s mission, vision, and strategies. Personify the ministry of World Vision by witnessing to Christ and ministering to others through life, deed, word and sign.
Essential Functions:
- Provide the Mobilization leadership team with advice and coaching on the financial implications of business activities and provide recommendations on how to enhance financial performance.
- As a member of the Mobilization leadership team, evaluate and advise on long-range planning issues, including the introduction of new programs and strategies.
- This includes oversight of the financial planning and budget process, as well as, assisting teams in prioritization and decision-making activities to ensure the alignment of resources with organizational goals and objectives.
- Assess the use of the division's resources to ensure that managers are acting as effective stewards and that departments are operating at the highest level of efficiency.
- Provide counsel and coaching regarding key business decisions around operational processes, effectiveness and integration. Collaborate with professional and managerial staff and external partners to create changes to operational activities that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of organizational business processes.
- Implement cost controls and other accountability systems to ensure managers and staff maintain high standards of financial integrity and professionalism.
- Evaluate and support vendor contract activities within the team, protecting World Vision's interests and limiting risk.
- Collaborate closely with the CFO and other WVUS senior leaders to ensure alignment with global goals and leverage resources.
- Keep informed of organizational announcements, activities and changes via regular reading of the WVUS Intranet and other corporate communication tools.
- Keep Christ central in our individual and corporate lives. Attend and participate in the leadership of devotions, weekly Chapel services, and regular prayer.
Required Skills
- Proven high level experience with process improvement efficiencies, decisions and implementation
- Previous business strategy/finance consulting role with a large consulting firm highly desirable
- Run annual budget of $100 million
- Excellent communication, probing and influencing skills
- Effectively interpret and communicate financial information to stakeholders
- Effectively work with senior level management
Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics or related field or equivalent work experience (eight years).
- Master's in Business Administration (MBA)
- Work experience in high level finance and executing business process improvement ; 5+ years.
Standard office environment. Some travel may be required; up to 10%.
