We are seeking an experienced senior IT professional to be responsible for North American Shared Services implementations, and all aspects of the World Vision’s End User Technology (EUT) solutions; including but not limited to PCs, mobile devices, tablets, VTC, messaging, office telephony systems, personal productivity applications, helpdesk, and desktop support. You will work with customer groups to identify solutions, services, service levels, and costs; lead teams that are responsible for the vision, strategy, design, solution delivery, support, and maintenance of these solutions and services; and define the overall architecture, processes/methods, team skills, and resourcing required for these areas. You will also be responsible to lead continuous improvement in effectiveness and efficiency; provide strategic direction and tactical recommendations to highly technical, specialized, and professional information systems teams (such as, high level independent contributors and/or managers); and serve as high-level strategic advisor to the World Vision US technical teams and CIO.
Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Direction
- Collaborate with other WVUS leaders to ascertain their information systems priorities.
- Develop the strategy and roadmaps for the products and services provided by this team.
- Research and maintain knowledge in relevant organizational design, methodologies, processes, and technologies.
- Provide process, organizational, and staff skill recommendations to project teams and senior leadership based on World Vision U.S.' long-term information systems strategy.
- Participate in the active balancing of business and technical priorities in order to maximize benefits to World Vision's ministry.
- Serve as an internal consultant, advocate, mentor and change agent.
2. Technical and Process Leadership
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture and Enterprise Information Security to develop and align with standards, guidelines, best practices, and patterns.
- Work effectively with the departmental directors, managers, and team leads to provide solutions and services in support of our evolving business needs.
- Develop an advanced level of understanding across the relevant technologies and IT processes at World Vision.
- Define and modify solutions/services as required in order to continuously improve team efficiency and effectiveness, and to meet the strategic needs of the organization.
- Design and develop effective process, organization, and staff skills for the solutions and services from idea to fully supported production.
3. Business Management
- Develop and manage effective working relationships with other business units and technical teams to optimize collaborative efforts and shared objectives.
- Responsible for communicating long-term direction and for achieving broad organizational strategies in all areas of responsibility.
- Direct the development of the annual business plan and operational and capital asset budgets, and periodically monitor progress to ensure performance is on target.
- Hire, fire, train, and counsel employees under direct supervision; evaluate employee performance against individual and team goals and recommend salary increases, promotions and other personnel actions.
- Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to all employees working in assigned areas of responsibility.
- Fully responsible for sourcing decisions and strategic vendor contracts required to meet the objectives of the team.
4. Other
- Maintain an on-going meeting schedule with key business managers to insure timely, clear and collaboration of project information and service level performance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Work collaboratively with team members when assigned to work as a member of a team.
- Help carry out our Christian organization’s mission, vision, and strategies. Personify the ministry of World Vision by witnessing to Christ and ministering to others through life, deed, word and sign.
- Keep Christ central in our individual and corporate lives. Attend and participate in the leadership of devotions, weekly Chapel services, and regular prayer.
Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or other related field or equivalent work experience (eight years). Work experience in information technology and project management; 8-10 years.
- Open communication style, with the ability to listen and adapt delivery to suit audience and environment
- Ability to gain consensus through influence
- Strong experience translating technical solutions and information to multiple audiences
- Strong interpersonal skills sufficient to interact at multiple management levels in a diplomatic and professional manner
Working Environment / Conditions
Standard working office environment. Some travel required. May be required to be on-call after hours.
