In this role you will oversee the growth and implementation of the Asian Multicultural Volunteer program nationwide, grow sponsorship acquisition (fundraising), and increase the number of volunteers in the program. Help carry out our Christian organization’s mission, vision, and strategies. Personify the ministry of World Vision by witnessing to Christ and ministering to others through life, deed, word and sign.
Responsibilities:
- Keep Christ central in our individual and corporate lives. Attend and participate in the leadership of devotions, weekly Chapel services, and regular prayer.
- Develop and manage the implementation of a national Asian multicultural volunteer strategy to recruit, screen, train, evaluate, motivate and retain high impact volunteers.
- Evaluate program results, analyze fundraising effectiveness, and modify strategies based upon results as needed.
- Manage the development of annual budget and strategic plans; produce department itemized budgets, as well as growth initiative projections.
- Develop Area Manager leader volunteers who supervise multi-state areas and cultivate multicultural volunteers.
- Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring and support to volunteers in program. Plan staff/volunteer team meetings, and national training sessions.
- Train and interface with Child Ambassador Helpdesk staff as needed to promote program strength and good communication flow.
- Collaborate with multiple WV departments to achieve work goals; become a known quantity across departments, support existing efforts and build new high-value relationships.
- Internally promote multicultural volunteer program to build awareness about program among current donors and staff.
- Hire, fire, train, counsel, evaluate, and recommend salary increases and promotions for those under direct supervision.
- Perform other duties as required. Keep informed of organizational announcements, activities and changes via regular reading of the WVUS Intranet and other corporate communication tools.
Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (eight years). A minimum of five years of work experience including the following: Management of a program, project or department, as well as, the recruitment and oversight of volunteers. Must include a minimum of two years of supervisory work experience. Experience in multicultural marketing strongly preferred. Bi-lingual strongly preferred, with an emphasis on the following languages: Korean, Mandarin, Cantonese, Tagalog, Hindi, and/or Vietnamese or solid understanding of the Asian market in the USA.
Working Environment / Conditions
Standard office environment. Travel domestically approximately 35% of the time. International travel is required (1-3 weeks per year).
