Background
Under the overall supervision of the OFRM Chief, Accounts & Client Services Division, the Consultant will conduct a Bank Reconciliation Risk Assessment and conduct Knowledge Transfer Sessions for the Office of Financial Resources Management. The objective of the assessment and knowledge transfer is to identify and remediate high risk elements in the current bank reconciliation procedures and processes and provide training to OFRM staff in monitoring, oversight and risk identification.
Duties and Responsibilities
Working with the Client Service Team (CST) Managers in OFRM, the consultant is responsible for:
- Reviewing status of bank account reconciliation for country offices;
- Conducting a detailed review of a selection of country offices having significant amounts to be investigated;
- Preparing a risk mitigation framework for ongoing monitoring and assessment;
- Reviewing and updating standard operating procedures for automatic, semi-automatic and manual account reconciliation for use by country offices and headquarters units;
- Preparing training materials and delivering training to CST’s and other participants on the procedures for accurate timely completion of bank account reconciliation in Atlas;
- Compiling recommendations and other inputs from CST’s and other staff on issues routinely encountered in bank reconciliation review; develop FAQ’s for use;
- Providing recommendations for improvements in processes and procedures for system monitoring of bank; reconciliation status including those related to the Bank-to-Book (B2B) report and Dashboard indicators.
- Consulting with other internal stakeholders as required.

Required Skills and Experience
Education:
Master’s Degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Economics, Social Sciences, International Relations, Finance or related field or professional accounting qualification from an internationally recognized Institute of Accountancy (ACA/CA/CPA, etc.).
Relevant Work Experience:
7 years of relevant experience in financial data analysis with direct experience in bank account reconciliation;
Experience in the usage of Enterprise Resource Planning systems, especially PeopleSoft Version 9.0, and MS Office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc).
Language:
Fluency in English.
