United Methodist Women (UMW), National Office, Communications Team has an immediate opening
for a Production Traffic Associate.

The Organization United Methodist Women is the largest denominational faith organization for women with approximately 800,000 members whose mission is fostering spiritual growth, developing leaders, and advocating for justice. Members raise up to $20 million each year for programs and projects related to women, children and youth in the United States and in more than 100 countries around the world.

The Team The Communications Team is a diverse group of professionals. Our team members and freelancers have experience working in advertising, ecommerce and magazine and book publishing.

The Role: The successful candidate will be accountable for managing and coordinating the scope, timeliness, and quality of all projects executed on behalf of UMW. Internally, the Production Traffic Associate collaborates with the Communications Team and reports directly to the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Traffic projects. Help build schedules. Locate and track jobs. Direct job flow. Prepare job bags, print, and route proofs.
 • Assist Manager in preparing for meetings. At times, lead production meetings.
 • Maintain project plans, timelines/schedules, task lists, status reports, etc.
 • Work closely with members of editorial and design staff and external stakeholders. Maintain constant contact and communication.
 • Help manage and facilitate a smooth production process.
 • Submit all paper work and art files to relevant stakeholders when needed.
• Provide daily status updates to immediate Supervisor.
 • Write print instructions, purchase orders and estimate requests.
 • In coordination with Manager, help streamline current processes and implement new processes and procedures, always with an eye on continuous improvement.
• Serve as backup to Operations Manager, assisting in operations, as needed.

Required

 • BA/BS degree in Communications or related study.
• 2+ years of experience in Print Publishing in a similar role. Experience managing and updating all print production schedules.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects to completion, while working in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment.
 • Self-motivated, always focusing on the solution. Strong initiative with an eye for continuous improvement.
 • Experience uploading files to FTP site and packaging files.
 • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
 • Proficiency in Indesign preferred. Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator and Basecamp experience a plus.
 • Excellent time management and project management skills and proven ability to multi-task and prioritize own work as well as the team’s work.
 • Must be detail-oriented.
 • Ability to be a change agent.
 • Exceptional communication skills and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
