Lend for America is program of the Campus Microfinance Alliance, a collaborative effort started in 2009 to
support the growth of the student led microfinance movement. Its mission is to empower the next generation of social entrepreneurs to build strong businesses and communities through innovative microfinance. It provides opportunity to students to know how microfinance works in U.S.
About the Job:
Lend for America is seeking a Program Intern to help execute organization's fall and winter activities. The position is unpaid, and is of 12 - 16 weeks duration from September - December.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Conduct research to add new materials to organization's start up kit, an online toolkit for start up microfinance organizations;
- Experiment with new and alternative ways to leverage social media activities to advance organization's communications strategy;
- Assist with marketing and registration for organization's annual national conference;
- Assist with writing and sending a monthly update to members;
- Create and publish new marketing materials for organization;
- Assist with Salesforce updates and improvements.
Qualifications:
- Excellent writing skills and verbal communication skills;
- Creative and sense of humor;
- Take personal responsibility;
- Passionate about working with low-income communities through a microfinance organization;
- Own computer to use.
