About the Job:
Calvert Foundation is seeking a Vice President - External Relations and Development. S/he will oversee and grow all development and external relations strategies and be a strategic leader in the organization. S/he will be responsible for managing two professionals and have support across the organization to achieve stated goals.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Deepen organization's existing fundraising program to reliably and consistently meet an annual fundraising goal of USD 3 million;
- Oversee an established and high caliber communications and marketing team;
- Work in partnership with the innovation lab team and chief strategy officer to raise operating grants and investments to support initiatives, such as winwin;
- Frequent required travel to cultivate, solicit, and steward donor relationships;
- Ongoing customer communications and service to manage existing donors as well as solicit grant opportunities, including writing compelling concept papers and proposals that identify areas of overlap between organization's work and the interests and motivations of prospective funders;
- Work seamlessly with finance and risk teams to process and report on grants and investments;
- Support public relations needs as well as oversee marketing and communications strategy of enterprise;
- Contribute as a member of the operating committee leadership team to develop enterprise strategy and goals as well as manage the development and external relations budget.
Qualifications:
- Experienced, dynamic, and entrepreneurial professional with more than 10 years progressive experience;
- Proven experience executing a successful, comprehensive multi-million dollar fundraising program;
- Comfort in using technology to manage workflow, and also as it is expected that Salesforce will be used as customer relationship management tool;
- Ability to focus on the big picture, while maintaining strong attention to detail and meeting deadlines;
- Resourceful, ability to produce exceptional results with limited resources;
- Exceptional interpersonal skills including the ability to influence across the organization, and interact with internal and external constituents, including board members;
- Prior experience with social impact investing preferred.
