ICANN has an exciting new opportunity for a Procurement Director based in our new Los Angeles Headquarters, reporting to the CFO. The Procurement director will design, implement and manage the procurement policies and processes of the organization. Specifically, the position requires identifying needs and defining the procurement processes adapted to optimize costs and efficiency.

A true partner to the business, the Procurement Director maintains communication at all levels of the organization to ensure that the procurement activities of the organization are addressed through policies, procedures and supported by adequate systems. Duties also include identifying potential suppliers, soliciting and reviewing bids, selecting suppliers, negotiating and awarding contracts. Other duties include identifying potential cost savings, developing and overseeing metrics, ensuring compliance with rules and regulations and overseeing procurement staff.

Key Responsibilities

  •     Design/update the procurement policy for the company.
  •     Review and improve procurement systems.
  •     Manage the development and implementation of purchasing programs consistent with ICANN’s policies.
  •     Define and monitor the processes to select vendors.
  •     Negotiate, in coordination with business managers, pricing, quantity, terms and other elements of purchasing agreements.
  •     Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures including purchasing authority.
  •     Analyze purchasing activities and recommend and implement improvements to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  •     Conduct spend and ROI analyses, define quantified costs reduction objectives in coordination with management and business managers.
  •     Identify and communicate best practices.
  •     Other duties as assigned or requested.

Required Skills

Required Experience
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Business
  • Minimum 7 years related purchasing/procurement experience
  • Minimum 12 years of business experience
  • Experience includes professional services sourcing/procurement
  • Must have built and reorganized a corporate procurement function, policy/process/procedures.
  • Must have managed RFPs and negotiation with vendors
  • Cost control experience balancing quality and budget constraints.
  • Experience managing sensitive relationships with major vendors.
  • Experience implementing procurement best practices - both strategies and implementation.
  • Experience in establishing and monitoring performance metrics
