Project Description: IFES works to promote equal rights, justice and political participation for women around the world. The Gender and Elections intern will work closely with the Senior Gender Specialist and Gender Program Coordinator on new initiatives that will require outreach to global gender and elections experts and IFES field staff. The intern will also be involved in programmatic and administrative aspects of IFES’ Gender Working Group.

Job Responsibilities: -
 Assisting with the startup of the IFES Women’s Electoral Leadership Liaisons (IFES-WELL) network, organizing contact lists and communicating with members; - Maintaining IFES’ gender community of practice and communicating to IFES field offices to involve interested staff; - Conducting research related to gender and elections and women’s political participation; - Providing logistical and administrative support to the Gender Working Group; - Attending and reporting on internal and external meetings related to gender issues; and - Other tasks as assigned by the Senior Gender Specialist.

Qualifications: -
 Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited university studying political science, international relations, gender studies, or related focus area; - Interest in Gender and Elections issues (relevant experience a plus); - Excellent research, writing and communication skills; and - Proficiency with Word and Excel.
