The Boulder Institute of Microfinance is a nonprofit organization founded in 2004. It is dedicated to increasing access of formal financial services for low income families to help them achieve their multiple goals and ultimately improve their lives.The Boulder Institute offers annual microfinance training programs that challenge microfinance professionals to engage in critical thinking around decisions they face in their microfinance activities and become familiar with the evidence behind success and failure in the provision of financial services.

About the Job:
The Boulder Institute of Microfinance is seeking a Grants Administrator. S/he will support the production of timely and high quality proposals to governmental organizations, private foundations, and multilateral organizations.

Tasks and Responsibilities:


  •     Implementation of all grants and contractual compliance;
  •     Compile financial and non-financial data for the accounting process;
  •     Prepare internal reports, compliance reports, and grant billing as requested;
  •     Provide colleagues with proactive advice on donor regulation compliance and provides support in maintaining relationships with external grant managers and program officers of funding bodies.

Qualifications:

  •     Bachelor’s degree required;
  •     Minimum 3 years of work experience;
  •     Fundraising and grant administration experience preferred;
  •     Proven track record in writing grant proposals and grant requests to a range of donors is required;
  •     Very strong writing and editing skills, able to prepare monthly, quarterly, and fiscal year reports;
  •     Strong analytical skills and ability to comprehend and make inferences from written material;
  •     Analyze and compile technical and statistical information for prospect research;
  •     Excellent organization skills with ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritize projects, handle multiple assignments, and meet deadlines;
  •     Strong problem solving skills with attention to detail and high-level accuracy;
  •     Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to interact effectively and diplomatically with colleagues across all levels of the organization in a multicultural professional environment;
  •     Strong English writing and editing skills required, preferably with basic knowledge of Spanish or French;
  •     Must be available to travel internationally and willing to work remotely.
