Job Summary:
Position Summary:
To manage
existing Gun Care Chemical products for growth and profitability; to manage
testing and improvement where possible of existing products; to identify market
opportunities; to develop profitable new products; and to assist in marketing
efforts to sell new products to optimize profit and meet marketing, financial,
and corporate growth objectives by performing the following duties
.
Primary Responsibilities:

Understand the assigned product categories from
a consumer, retail and competitive perspective and identify opportunities
·
Collect comprehensive technical specifications
on FGI products and key competitor products where possible.
·
Manage the effectiveness testing of existing and
new products relative to competitive offerings
·
Work with vendors and outside developers in the improvement
and development of formulations to optimize new and existing products
·
Work with purchasing and other resources to
develop a lower cost supply structure for products including new and better
sources
·
Monitor sales and profitability of all products
in the selected categories
·
Monitor sales trends of products and react
appropriately
·
Collaborate with Sales to help drive product
sales and evaluate product potential
·
Responsibility for product margins
·
Participation in product forecasting
·
Coordinate with Marketing in the development of
a comprehensive suite of marketing tools
·
Coordinate with Sales and sales reps for sales
materials and training
·
Participate in Shows to learn more about
customers and the industry
·
Make store visits to understand customer strategy

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college
or university in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related preferred; three
to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of
education and experience.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general
business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or
governmental regulations.
·
Ability to write reports, business
correspondence, and procedure manuals.
·
Ability to effectively present information and
respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the
general public.
·
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such
as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid
geometry and trigonometry.
·
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions,
percentages, weighted averages, ratios, and proportions to practical
situations.
·
Ability to define problems, collect data,
establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
·
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of
technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several
abstract and concrete variables.
·
To perform this job successfully an individual
should have knowledge and use of Microsoft Office Word, Excel & Power Point
software. Knowledge SAP inventory
software, SAP manufacturing software, SAP order processing systems preferred.

Understanding of product development essentials.
·
Understanding of consumer goods product
development.
·
Understanding of retail and wholesale
environment.
·
Understanding of global labeling requirements
for chemical products.
·
Understanding of chemical technologies as
relates to lubricants, solvents, and cleaners.
·
Experience in developing hard goods for the
consumer market.
·
Understanding of and interest in the outdoor
market.
