As the Senior Regional Advisor you’ll lead in the design of
WVUS' regional engagement strategies, ensuring their alignment and
support of various regional strategies and that these strategies can be
funded. Collaborate with all stakeholders including: International
Programs Group (IPG), fundraising, and marketing colleagues within WVUS,
Support Offices, National Offices (NO), Regional Offices (RO), and
Global Centre staff to achieve optimal leverage and stewardship of WVUS
resources toward Child Well-being Outcomes (CWB) impact. Help carry out
our Christian organization’s mission, vision, and strategies. Personify
the ministry of World Vision by witnessing to Christ and ministering to
others through life, deed, word and sign.
Keep Christ central in our individual and corporate lives. Attend and participate in the leadership of devotions, weekly Chapel services, and regular prayer.
Job Responsibilities include:
Strategic Planning:
Establish regional engagement (including funding) strategies on behalf of WVUS, specific objectives, and dashboard performance indicators.
Collaborate with relevant WVUS teams to holistically develop programming, manage programming risks and assess opportunities across funding streams for the fulfillment of regional strategies.
Contribute to WVUS and WVI advocacy and policy dialogue to ensure policy and practices are supportive of field objectives and the regional WVUS portfolio.
Relationships/Networks:
Establish collaborative relationships and networks with IPG, fundraising and marketing colleagues within WVUS, WVI partners, and Support Office counterparts.
Promote the WVUS perspective in developing strategies that integrate fundraising and programming realities.
Build external relationships and networks that broadly support resource acquisition and allocation.
Leveraging/Stewardship of Resources:
Help ensure funding priorities align with field needs, regional strategies and Partnership initiatives by proactively engaging with fundraisers and marketing teams while offers are being developed.
Maintain current knowledge of regional strategies and field needs in order to effectively represent and make commitments on behalf of WVUS in Regional Working Groups and Virtual Investment Reviews.
Lead the strategic alignment and support the allocation and management of private WVUS resources to the regions in coordination with IPG Finance team.
Utilize existing risk monitoring systems for early detection/rapid response on portfolio risk areas through collaboration with the Global Field Office (GFO) and NO colleagues to quickly resolve portfolio risks and/or take advantage of portfolio opportunities.
Review and approve Program Design Documents (PDD) for all assigned national offices.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Keep informed of organizational announcements, activities and changes via regular reading of the WVUS Intranet and other corporate communication tools.

- Required Experience

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (eight years). Masters degree in related field preferred. Seven years of international program work experience required. Knowledge of international relief and development practices, standards, key debates, and deep insight into at least one region. Demonstrated ability to create and interpret budgets, as well as negotiation and problem solving skills. Ability to build strong cross-cultural working relationships. The ability to speak, understand, and write in a foreign language may be required based on country needs.
- Candidates will preferably have some work experience in East Africa. should have strong networking, partnership building and negotiation skills. Swahili and/or Arabic language skills helpful.
Working Environment / Conditions
Standard office environment. Domestic
and international travel required up to 30%. All applicants must be
eligible to work in the United States at the time of application.
