This
position is located in the Organizational Change Management team of Umoja in
the Department of Management in New York.
The Intern reports to the Chief of Management Support Service.
The
Department of Management/Umoja internship is for two months with an opportunity
for extension, pending on the needs of the Office. The internship is UNPAID and
full-time. Interns work five days per week (35 hours) under the supervision of
a staff member in the department or office to which they are assigned.
Responsibilities
·
The objective of the Executive Office (EO)
Deployment Support Task Force is to define what type of service delivery model
is most suitable to the needs of the Secretariat. The differences between each
of these models needs to be considered with respect to the types of services
envisioned for delivery, the nature of the clients of these services, end users
and other considerations such as cost, risk, economies of scale and benefit to
the Secretariat.

The overall objective of the EO Task Force is to
develop an end state vision for the service delivery model selected above that
will leverage the Umoja solution and optimize effective and efficient delivery
of Secretariat administrative process at local and global levels. It is
important to align the Change Management (CM) strategy with the Umoja Cluster 3
deployment schedule in terms of planned actions, including but not limited to
training. Part of the CM strategy will
include identifying potential obstacles/risks and developing mitigation
strategies to address these risks.

The intern will support the Task Force
activities in their data collection, analyses, facilitation of meetings and
brainstorming sessions, development of power point presentations, meeting
summaries and reports.

Education
·
Applicants must be enrolled in a degree
programme in a graduate school (second level university degree or higher); or
if pursuing their studies in countries where higher education is not divided
into undegraduate and graduate stages, have completed at least four years of
full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the
completion of a degree.

Be computer literate in standard software
applications and familiar with Word, Excel and Power Point.
·
Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of
the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter;
and
·
Have a demonstrated ability to successfully
interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which
include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions
and views.
Work Experience: Applicants are not
required to have professional work experience for participation in the
programme.
Languages: Fluency in English (both oral
and written) is required. Knowledge of
another UN official language is an advantage.
